Environmental Sustainability: Sami Miro Vintage
At Sami Miro Vintage, we place a strong emphasis on sustainability and environmental consciousness. We believe that fashion can coexist with responsible practices that minimize harm to the planet. That’s why our “Planet” rating is “Great.” We are dedicated to creating a positive impact on the environment through various initiatives and policies.
We prioritize the use of lower-impact materials, including upcycled materials. By repurposing existing fabrics and materials, we reduce waste generation and minimize the need for new resources. This approach helps limit the chemicals, water, and wastewater involved in our supply chain.
Production Run Limits
Another way we minimize waste is by limiting our production runs. We aim to produce only what is necessary to meet the demand, avoiding excess inventory that often leads to unsold stock. This practice not only reduces waste but also benefits the overall sustainability of our business.
As part of our commitment to reducing carbon emissions, we manufacture our products closer to home. By minimizing long-distance shipping, we reduce the environmental impact associated with transportation and contribute to a lower carbon footprint. We believe in supporting local economies while prioritizing sustainability.
Workers’ Rights and Social Responsibility
At Sami Miro Vintage, we recognize that workers’ rights are of utmost importance. We strive to create a safe and fair working environment for all individuals involved in our supply chain. Our “People” rating is “It’s a Start,” indicating our commitment to further improvement in this area.
Supply Chain Transparency
We partially trace our supply chain, which includes all of the final production stages. While we endeavor to ensure transparency throughout our processes, we are continuously working to enhance our tracing capabilities and provide our customers with complete visibility into our supply chain.
While we do not currently have a formal Code of Conduct, we have a formal statement that specifically covers workers’ rights. This statement outlines our commitment to fair labor practices and demonstrates our dedication to social responsibility.
While we advocate for fair wages, we currently do not have evidence to prove that workers in our supply chain are paid living wages. However, we are actively working towards ensuring fair compensation for all individuals involved.
Animal Welfare and Ethical Practices
As a fashion brand dedicated to sustainability, we believe in protecting animal welfare. Our “Animals” rating is “Good,” reflecting our efforts to prioritize ethical practices and traceability in animal-derived products.
In line with our commitment to sustainability, we use recycled leather in all our leather products. By repurposing materials, we reduce the need for new resources and minimize the environmental impact associated with traditional leather production.
In addition, we utilize recycled wool in all our wool products. Using recycled materials helps us reduce our carbon footprint and support a circular economy.
No Use of Animal-Derived Products
We are proud to state that we do not use down, fur, angora, exotic animal skin, or exotic animal hair. Our commitment to animal welfare extends to ensuring that our products are entirely free from materials obtained through practices that harm animals.
Overall Rating: Good
