Environmental Policies and Practices
At Toad&Co, we are committed to sustainability and reducing our impact on the environment. As a brand focused on sustainability in the fashion industry, we understand the importance of using lower-impact materials in our supply chain. That’s why we use a medium proportion of organic cotton, which helps limit the use of chemicals, water, and wastewater in the production process.
In addition to using organic cotton, Toad&Co also employs low-impact materials that further contribute to reducing our environmental footprint. By prioritizing materials that have a lower impact on the environment, we are working towards creating a more sustainable supply chain.
Furthermore, Toad&Co takes pride in using renewable energy in our direct operations, such as stores and offices. By utilizing renewable energy sources, we reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and decrease our carbon emissions. However, we acknowledge that there is room for improvement in implementing renewable energy practices across our entire supply chain. We are continuously evaluating ways to incorporate renewable energy into all aspects of our business.
Workers’ Rights and Fair Labor Practices
At Toad&Co, we believe that workers’ rights are of utmost importance. We strive to ensure fair labor practices throughout our supply chain. While we have made progress in this area, there is still work to be done.
One of the factors that influences our “People” rating is the sourcing of our final stage of production from countries with a high risk of labor abuse. We recognize that this is an area where we need to improve and are actively working towards sourcing from countries with stronger labor regulations.
Toad&Co has implemented a Code of Conduct that covers the principles of the International Labour Organization’s Four Fundamental Freedoms. This code sets the standard for ethical and fair treatment of workers across our supply chain.
Transparency is also a priority for Toad&Co. We trace most of our supply chain, which means we have visibility into the conditions and practices involved in the production of our products. However, we acknowledge that there is room for improvement in ensuring that workers are paid living wages throughout our supply chain. We are committed to addressing this issue and taking steps to improve the livelihoods of the workers who contribute to our brand.
Animal Welfare and Product Traceability
Toad&Co recognizes the importance of animal welfare and is committed to ensuring that our products are cruelty-free. In line with this commitment, we have taken steps to ensure that our products do not contain any animal-derived materials that may contribute to animal suffering.
We use recycled wool in some of our wool products, which helps reduce the demand for new wool production and eliminates the need for additional resources. By using recycled materials, we contribute to the circular economy and minimize our impact on the environment.
Furthermore, Toad&Co does not use leather, down, fur, angora, exotic animal skin, or exotic animal hair in any of our products. We believe in promoting ethical practices and cruelty-free alternatives in the fashion industry.
Overall Sustainability Rating: Good
Based on all publicly available information we have reviewed, Toad&Co has received a “Good” rating overall for our sustainability efforts. We are proud of the progress we have made in implementing environmental policies, ensuring fair labor practices, and promoting animal welfare.
However, we recognize that there is always room for improvement, and we are committed to continuously striving for greater sustainability in all aspects of our business. We will continue to evaluate and implement practices that reduce our environmental impact, promote workers’ rights, and uphold animal welfare standards.
Join us in our mission to create a more sustainable fashion industry by choosing Toad&Co, a brand that prioritizes sustainability, transparency, and ethical practices. Together, we can make a difference for the planet, people, and animals.
